Set up service billing

Coming soon

Enable billing, choose how each service records charges, and prepare your invoice details.

This feature is coming soon. This guide explains how to use it once it becomes available.

Where to find it

Business settings → Modules; Services → select a service → Billing

Before you start

The business Owner enables Service billing once it is available. Service configuration requires the appropriate service permissions; Owners and Finance manage the catalogue and invoice settings.

Steps

  1. Enable Service billing

In Business settings → Modules, enable Service billing. This enables the feature for your business; you still need to configure the services that will use it.

  2. Choose a billing policy

Open Services, select a service and choose Billing. Set its Billing policy to allow optional charges, require charges before submission, or limit entry to authorised reviewers. Off keeps billing entry disabled for new records in that service. Save settings.

  3. Make service items available

Owners or Finance can create items and rates in Services → Service items. Make the appropriate items available to the service. Its Billing tab shows the items assigned to that service.

  4. Add your invoice details

Open Billing → Settings. Check Financial currency, then save the business, Tax ID, invoice contact and payment details you want on new invoices.

  5. Add a payer

In Billing → Payers, add the person or organisation that will receive invoices. You choose the payer when preparing an invoice.
